CHURCH LEADERSHIP

Annual Congregational Meeting & Church Council

Each December, our church family gathers for our Annual Congregational Meeting immediately following our morning worship services. This important meeting provides an opportunity for our faith community to participate in the governance of First Church of God. During this time, we hold elections for our governing Church Council and vote on the proposed budget for the upcoming year, ensuring responsible church donations management and financial planning. Our Senior Pastor also shares an encouraging update regarding the vision and direction for the church in the new year.

Our dedicated Church Council leads the various ministries and operations of our church. This governing body consists of 17 members, each serving in a vital role

Chairman (John Nixon)

Leads all Council and congregational meetings, ensuring productive and Spirit-led discussions.

Elders ( Shirley Boreman & John Wood)

Nurture the spiritual growth and training of our congregation, providing guidance and support.

Deacons (Ronnie Carter, Chuck Hess, Bev Yoder, Ethan Dunbar)

Oversee the financial health and training of our congregation, ensuring responsible stewardship.

Deaconesses (Barb Flickinger, Sharon Zile, Kala Roby, Judy DeVault)

Care for and prepare our special church events and services, and minister to the women of our congregation.

Trustees (Sam Bauder, Roger Rehm, Larry Uhl)

Maintain and care for our church grounds and facilities, ensuring a welcoming and functional environment.

The Church Council conducts its regular business meetings on the first Tuesday of each month. These meetings are open to all members of our church community who wish to observe the ongoing work and leadership of First Church of God. We believe in transparency and encourage active participation in the life of our church.
